The Conquest of the North
Aramayans invaded and laid siege to the northern capital of Samaria, where famine and cannibalism followed in the court of Ahab's second son. In feebled by this conquest, the north also feuded with the southern kingdom of Judah. After civil war a new king rose to prominence in Samaria in the north. This new king slaughtered all of the Baal worshipers in Samaria and turned Baal's temple into a toilet. Still, God was not pleased with the north. The northern conqueror Hazael began a renewed assault on Israel. As a powerful bastion of Israelite leadership, the north's days were over.
