Gospel Matthew is very similar to imagery we find in a non-biblical book that was wildly popular in Jesus' day. In First Enoch, there's this amazing scene of the final judgment. The idea in First Enoch is salvation isn't just about escaping the fires of hell. Salvation is about transformation. That's what Jesus wants for us.
