The Cost of Survival in the 1970s
In the 1970s, a group of people in Hawaii wanted to learn how to navigate on the high seas. They went looking for someone who could teach them but couldn't find anyone that had done it before. A man named Mao Pelleg taught them and they were able to get back to Tahiti with his help. The boat was called Hacalaya - which means "the two of us" or "one of us" John Sutter: It's amazing what can be learned from just one trip at sea.
