I think we still are living in a highly mechanistic society like we haven't made quite the leap to understand what comes after these mechanistic worldview. The human mind is awesome at cause and effect thinking it's one of the great things humans can do It makes our lives better to understand the patterns and forces that animate our existence as opposed to our mechanistic cause and effect models.
