The Benefits of a and H for Cardiac Surgery
The idea is to bank the patient's own blood but between the time they go and the time they start bleeding. Cell saver lacks the clotting factors in platelets. The A and H blood has only been outside the body for one, two or three hours. Even on a long surgery you can still give it back when the bleeding stops.
