Roger Caseman was a British colonial civil servant, but also an Irish nationalist. He was arrested and executed for treason after diaries were found in his lodgings with graphic accounts of homosexual encounters with young boys during his career. All became a politically charged subject in the context of Anglo-Irish relations. And again, that's another classic case of the applied history side, if you like.
