The Threat of Panic in Women's Studies

The production of panic in essence demonstrates the threat and damage to the existing order into people's feelings of comfort and security. Women's studies department chairs and professors have routinely discussed the consequences of living with the possibility of shutting down their programs, cutting funding, or otherwise redirecting resources away from the women's away from women's studies.
