The risk is that there's this mass of increase in complexity. Every one who's ever called up a call centring, gone through a digital line has experienced the same problem. If you poorly design a web site, then you have automated difficulty and complexity for everyone who follows you. Technology is incredibly useful an accelerator, something that can automate improvement and change if you use it right. But all the things that make it potential for good also can automate things that poorly designed.
