Immigrants and the Local Economy

If you restrict emigration, for example, to a farm in california, well the people who run farms might just end up out sourcing the production of the food that they were going to make to mexico itself. It's not necessarily the case that they're going to hire us. But this also has another effect, which that if you allow the immigrants to come to the us and work on the farms here, then you're also building a local economy. And so it just has all these interesting kind of second or third order effects that i think people need to think about.
