The Four Cardinal Virtues
In the tradition, there are a number of ways we describe justice. But Peeper and Aquinas writing in the 1200s argues that there's one high level simple rolled up definition for what justice is. And it therefore would be unjust if what is rightly due to someone is either hindered or taken away. If you don't act justly, then well, you don't have the virtue of justice.
