i think that the sort of moment of racial reckoning that we were seen around the globe is in large part connected to the movie industry. i've increasingly, over the last few months been struck by the notion that the first ever hollywood block buster was birth of a nation. Those lives being projected forty feet high in front of tens of millions of people have real human, substantive consequences,. particularly for black lives. I don't know if it answers your question, but it's something that has been greatly on my mind of late.
