Rick Steves: Frederick Olmsted is often called the father of landscape architecture. He lived and worked in South Brookline, Massachusetts; a stone's throw from Emerald Necklace. Cott produced PBS documentary special on Olmsted that celebrated his bicentennial last year. "He so strongly believed in democracy in the park," Steves says.
