How to Control Your Breathing for Long Distance Races

For the longer distance races where it's important to stay calm and stay relaxed, you can swim an entire 70.3 in Ironman as bilateral breathing or even every fourth stroke breathing. It'll help regulate the speed that you swim at because you can't go any faster than your ability to get the oxygen in. So I'm almost certain that controlling that breathing is really going to help you with this problem that you've had. Just focus on that next time you're in race type events and staying really calm.
