I feel like lately it's less banner ads and more of those modal windows to sign up for mailing lists before you've even read an article. I think a lot of it is about distracting. And I think it helps us. That's kind of how we learn to interpret and read motion too. Not just in the real world but also those interpretations of it. Sometimes kind of crazy.
