Don't Be the Coach
If your kid is lucky enough or fortunate enough to be really good at the college or even professional levels, their talent is going to express at some point. If that flame is coming from anywhere else, you're setting them up for failure. And another thing that i think is important is, and this doesn't get said enough, but it's true. It takes time and effort to show up to the eight year old teaball game. But if you really care and you want to send the message that, hay, were putting fun first, then, yes, go be the coach.
