The Clean and Unclean Food of Jesus
I love that Jesus is not using Torah to cancel Torah or scripture to cancel scripture because he's quoting from Isaiah 29. He does have problems with some traditions, or say, being pushed too far. And perhaps that's what comes out in that passage. Next week we will move into the Greco-Roman world and some of the seemingly odd things both Paul and Peter do around food.
