Is There a Difference Between Interpretation and Translation?

Wes Anderson: It depends whether we're talking about interpretation as an act of translation or an act of checking the content against a code that you already have in mind. She calls interpretation in the sense that she's objecting to a conscious act of the mind which illustrates a certain code, a certain rules of interpretation. I think she's rejecting both, but it would be nice if she were clearer, like giving more examples of the bad kind.
