You're Not Going to Leave Your Child, Am?
Am offers advice on how to help your child be more independent. She says parents often give their children an ultimatum when they want to leave the house. This is a bad idea, as it can make them think that you're going to abandon them. Instead she suggests giving choices such as 'it's time to go' or 'do you want to hold my hand?' Am also recommends setting timers for different parts of the day so kids are not left feeling unappreciated and alone.
