The Conversation That Shifted Things in Different Directions
The head of CMO was at least four levels above me. He thought I would be confrontational when I came in, you know, push the fact that we just have a standard statistical technique to apply and that's the one I wanted. We designed this analysis to show that by running these promotions in certain super stores that were close to highways, we were able to pull traffic from competing stores into our retail stores. The retailer eventually kept us on the eye level shelf, but they cut our space by a little bit,. And what we really realized is shick was putting a lot of pressure on them to get space for their new CEO who wanted to create competition in his categories.
