"It was playing it safe and it was pandering a bit. They could have named it after someone who I'm struggling to come up with a name because I don't know much about public research," he says. "You want authenticity and obscurity here, right? That's what you're looking for... You're looking for the vessel to have some name that nobody outside of the Arctic research community will ever know about or ever hear."
