DNS, or Domain Name System, is the lookup system responsible for converting human-readable domain names like google.com into IP addresses, which is the format that computers need to communicate with each other. But in this process, a LOT of data is leaked about your internet activities, and collected by all kinds of entities like ISPs and government organizations.
