Writing Excuses

M: I'm not careful about any of those things at all, mostly because i love doing my own riff on things like purposely. When i was younger and when i was starting out, i avoided it more because i didn't have a strong sense of my own voice or how i wanted to do a thing. Ah, i'll read two or three similar books before i write one of my novels. Or i'll watch a few similar movies before i start boarding a specific scene. And that once i do my init research, unless i'm completely up against a wall and i don't know what else to do, i'll eat jam on toast instead of going to pick more strawberries from that
