Prayer is a power one must develop of throwing a switch and withdrawing. If you wish to pray, then it is God whom you need. He it is who gives prayer to the man who prays. On that account, call upon him saying, hello, be thy name, thy kingdom come. Even a Vedant, which seems so ringly, you know, the absolute beyond even God, it starts with this prayer,. It is by the great grace of God that one gets a liking for non-duality also.
"Do not pray for the fulfillment of your wishes, for they may not accord with the will of God. But pray as you have been taught, saying: Thy will be done in me (cf. Luke 22:42). Always entreat Him in this way - that His will be done. For He desires what is good and profitable for you, whereas you do not always ask for this." - Evagrius Ponticus.
