Peter Followed From a Distance
Peter had a good raw material. He seemed to be a precipitous and impulsive individual. And we notice a detail in his time with jesus in gosemane, that he falls asleep. So an jesus says, pray that you not enter into temptation. What kind of temptation? Wire the temptation to a reject the cross,. or to run away from the cross, or disbelieve in the cross. Peter relies on his own strength. Jesus reprimands peter, for says, he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. But at the same time, theres layers of meaning that peter followed from a distance.
