The Importance of Understanding the Connection Between Labor and Civil Rights
When people say working class voters, they invariably mean white people. They have forgotten that most Afro-Americans in this country are working people. If Ta-Nehisi Coates is right about the situation, you'd have to say there's no exit. There's nothing we can do. Put your head between your legs and kiss your butt goodbye. That seems to be the political prescription that comes out of the whiteness.
