NSAIDs Can Block Pain, Fever and Inflammation
NSAIDs can block fever production. This is through the prostaglandin intrinsically in the hypothalamus. So blocks pain by stopping the sensitization of pain fibers by prostaglandins. Also downstream effects of bradykinin as well. It stops the inflammatory response, or at least certain aspects of the inflammatory response,. And also stops the fever response mediated by prostaglands. They're very widely used and are quite useful post-operatively too.
