Directing - Is There a Commonality?

There does seem to be a pretty good connection to personal connect. A pretty good pattern of people having personal connections to their stories. With directing, you really have to say like, hey, I went through this experience that this character went through. The more you can do that and stand out as not just one of these, you know, 10,000 generic directors, the better chance you'll have in getting ahead.
