Obstetric Pharmacology and Fetal Assessment
Dr. Mike Hoffkamp is a clinical associate professor at Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center College of Medicine and the director of obstetric anesthesia at Scott and White Medical Center Temple. We're going to get into a little more of a sub area of OB anesthesia and we're going to talk about obstetric pharmacology and fetal assessment. The first thing I'd like to talk about is our inhalational agents that we use in the operator room. Inhalational agents have been associated with lower app guard scores particularly when you have longer induction to delivery times. You don't want to start your C-section until the obstetricians are scrubbed with knives and hands ready to cut.
