Sasquatch is an index of ontological strangeness, the prospect of living in a reality that is fundamentally in its core simply unknowable. All knowledge is relativized in face of this fundamental unknowable kernel of the real. The black gate represents the limit of what they can conceive, the limit ofwhat they can know. And inevitably, by its very unknowability, it becomes the kind of entelicky or strange attractor that qualifies and defines their existence.
