Tips for Teachers

CHAPTER

The Importance of Consistency in Behaviour Policies

A bad behaviour policy followed by everybody's better than a piecemeal approach. When you're a teacher, you're a member of an institution. You're not a private tutor teaching the Queen of Sweden's children. If it's really that bad, then still stick to the system - but try as much as possible with other members of staff to bring change from within. And if the school's really thatbad, just leave. It's not that easy, but maybe that's your long term old goal... schools that don't know how to provide safe learning coaches for teachers don't deserve to have any. That's my job, Ted. I like it, Tom.
