Is There a Jewish Ethic of Sexuality?
Olivia: There's a beauty in our tradition around what this relationship looks like. When you don't teach it that way, all that students see are restriction after restriction. And even when teachers try to convey the beauty of the intimate relationship, let's say, i think it's too little. It's not sufficient to show the deeper values in ethics. We need to be very clear with students about that and make sure they understand how consensual sexual intercourse is different from rape. If we don't give them that, we can't assume thathey'lknow it on their own.
