The Chinese Family Name, X I, Is a Common Last Name
Nicholl: The w actually ina put out statement clarifying why they did this. They explained, ok, we're not using new because of the confusion with new an w. We're not using x i, i, however you want to pronounce it, because x i is a common last name. And so they're talking about how the chinese family name, sh is typically written out in english as x i,. same as the name of the greek letter.
