The axolotl is a little swimming salamander and if that's not cute enough for you, it appears to be permanently smiling. The amphibian may lack the cuddle factor of puppies and kittens but they're becoming explosively popular to keep his pets. Inbreeding can be a concern and if owners can't care for up to a thousand babies, they'll likely die prematurely or else end up abandoned.
