"I think he saw that I was having a little too much fun. My dad was probably like, geez, if I don't put some real skills into this kit," she says of her father. "That fear love hybrid somehow roped me into studying for industry licenses ... and then life got very real upon graduation" She moved to New York City just before the Great Recession hit in 2008.
