Saul had one set of ideas in his head about serving Yahweh as king when Samuel had another. He was the Moses of a new team where Saul was supposed to be the military deliverer. But this guy has to obey the prophet to be blessed and he just doesn't do it. The team ship breaks down early with Saul's disobedience to Samuel. And next time we're going to look and see what Saul actually does.
