Harrodale, a North South Valley
Harrodale is a north south valley. It's steep enough that in the gorge, it's already evening. They head down steeply in a single file into this narrow canyon. Tolkien tells us in his unfinished index that the Snowborn is a river rising under Starcorn and flowing out of Harrodale to join Entwash in Fenmarch. But we're going to go and add a little more detail that we find later in the chapter.
