"I was a total loser. I had gotten C minuses and D's in all my classes up until then at Santa Barbara, barely finished high school," he says. "So I decided to take a leave of absence. I moved home and I went to Foothill College,. And I didn't talk to any of my old friends from the skateboarding world ... It was just too familiar with a bunch of things." He adds: "The best way to dump heat is through the palms of your hands and the bottoms of your feet"
