The Importance of Confession
If it's on your heart, please don't feel bad of skipping the discussions and instead spending the time in prayer because that is an option. Be honest with him about your needs. And also in prayer, ask him for the self-awareness and the honesty to know where you are grasping at the promises. Like confession is, this isn't just a Byzantine Catholic thing. In the catechism of the Catholic Church, confession is listed as one of the sacraments of healing.
