The reason student loans have higher interest rates than cars or houses is because a car can be repossessed and a house can be foreclosed. With a degree, the repo man can't suck all those English 101 classes out of your noggin. The good senator isn't fighting economic opponents like me. He's fighting the structure of the cosmos.
