Letterbox and the Movies of the Past
I've noticed letterbox, like lists and things have sort of influenced a lot of movie watching culture. I feel like people are more apt now to jump on Ty West for having basic movie tastes because they've seen more. It's more amenable now because they're like, what you haven't your favorite movie isn't Tokyo story? What's wrong with you? You know, that kind of thing. So interesting from Ty West because Ty West is notorious for his horror, his horror films have a deep knowledge of cinema history. Like, filmmaking is not a filmmaking that doesn't deeply reflect a really wide knowledge.
