The Gravitational Tig, 51 Pegasi B
51 Pegasi B is the first exoplanet detected around a sunlight star. It's about 10 times closer than Mercury is to our sun, and so that was definitely something that was not necessarily predicted by studies of planet occurrence. If an alien civilization were observing us from this distance, what would they be able to tell about Earth? And how do we decide when we look at other planets what's going to indicate life?
