Frankie Lyman died of a heroin overdose in 1968, aged just 25. The band went through several lead singers before settling on Sandra Doyle as their new singer. A version of the band continues to this day, still featuring Herman Santiago and Jimmy Merchant. Why the fools fall in love was written by Herman Santiago with the help of Jimmy Merchant but neither were credited when it came out.
