The Thinning Out of the Australian Public Service

I've heard it from a very wide range of people across the political spectrum, is that there's really been a systematic thinning out of the Australian public service. I guarantee you, anyone who took a good first-year economics course would understand this stuff very well. And in fact, quite a lot of people say that this started during the whole government. But I think there really is a thing where a really high-quality public service would be a real guard against this. Not enough people taking first-year university economics that probably did the first.
