Raised Among Vultures by Molly Toomey
This poem comes from a book called Raised Among Vultures by Molly Toomey. It's such a small poem, 16 lines long, somebody being taken to the center by a father in the car. You can feel the silence and you can sense perhaps that there is awkwardness and complication. But one of the things about this poem that I think is so powerful is that actually it's a praise song asking for help and getting it.
