The Brain Machine Interface: How a Monkey Learned to Control a Robotic Arm
In 2008 a monkey with two normal arms used its thoughts to control a third arm made of metal. In the not too distant future it seems inevitable that we're going to have mind control robots in factories, underwater or on the surface of the moon. That's because our cortical maps after extensive training will be able to incorporate whatever the limbs are from our own bodies.
