Inciting Panic to Get People to Act Quickly
A new malware has come out and it's identified a network of phishing websites that all they're trying to do is target users of specific banks. One of their big ways of getting success is by inciting panic in people. They'll have them just enter a phone number. If you use this bank and something will go astray and then the fraudulent websites collect that contact information, then the cyber criminals now are just calling. It works very well because then remember the support staff or IT or help desk. These are folks that are probably in terms of like pay grade, probably at the lowest pay grade.
