Is There Anything to Learn From Switzerland?

The average Swiss citizen is importing US$35,000 worth of stuff every year. If they were getting that stuff from Europe countries using their francs, they would be $3,500 better off for no other reason than their strong currency. Most of Switzerland's exports are very high-end goods and services with significant value add. These aren't going to be as heavily impacted by global unrest as large-scale, low-margin commodities. But most economies will still have to forego significant growth to get themselves into a position as stable as Switzerland's.
