Peter Van Zand: Esther Reed has gone through about a dozen men. The producers pick up on the whole spy theory and run with it. They get a hold of some instant messages between Esther and one of her West Point boyfriends. In old photos, she's dressed as a belly dancer wearing a jewel and crusted bra. Mata Hari was an exotic dancer who was accused of being a spy during WWI.
