In Arthur's story, perceval is invited to stay at the castle of a fisher king. While he's there, courtiers carry on a procession with various ritual objects. They include an elaborately decorated grail which means wide chalice in mediaeval europe. Perceval watches this strange procession with this ornamented grail, but he stays silent. He considers it polite not to talk too much, so he says nothing. And after leaving, he is accosted by a strange woman in the woods,. She scolds him, saying that he should have asked about the grail. If he had asked what it was and whom its erved, that would have healed
