Failure is definitely the biggest problem using this approach. You know, maybe depending on what you read, NAPPA was 60%, some of the other literatures being 40, 50%. And most commonly that's due to a kinking of the cannula. This can definitely be reduced by using things like kink resistant cannulas,. but you also get failures that are caused by poor technique by the practitioner. But I think in defense of this approach, slightly for those that don't have surgical as part of their arm and teary., it does have some potential benefit.
